Asbestos Awareness (ASB)

Description
Although banned from use in the UK in 1999, it is still present in a number of buildings and other sites across the country. Although it has the potential to be extremely harmful to health, asbestos can be managed safely in its existing locations provided that the correct procedures and precautions are used.

This e-learning course provides an overview to asbestos, its dangers to health and the material benefits that
made its use so widespread in the 1960s and 70s. It also shows where you’re likely to encounter asbestos and how to proceed if you do, along with a summary of the legal regulations that govern them. Finally and most importantly, this course will show you how to minimise the risk to your own health, if you should encounter asbestos at work.
